Ford has issued a recall of 7,600 of its new 2013 Ford Escape SUVs in order to fix a coolant leak that could cause the engine to overheat and possible catch on fire.
The automaker received one report of a fire by a dealership employee who was driving the vehicle on the lot, the Washington Post reports. No one was injured. Ford has said it will repair affected consumers’ engines for free.
This marks the third recall in two months for the new Ford Escapes. Earlier this summer, 10,000 were recalled for a possible break problem, and 11,500 were recalled for another engine leak.
