Today the intoxicated, wrong-way driver that injured a Milwaukee police officer was sentenced to ten years in prison and an additional ten years supervised released after he pleaded no contest to the allegations.
Authorities charged the 19 year-old with first-degree felony reckless endangerment and first-degree felony reckless injury after he drove the wrong-way down 17th Street near Windlake Avenue Christmas night 2011. According to Fox News 6, law enforcement found him in Chicago where he tried to escape to Mexico.
The police officer was in critical condition following the accident and suffered severe leg injuries, facial lacerations, a brain injury, and missing teeth. He is still recovering from his injuries.
