A mother and her newborn baby who were injured during delivery have filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against the hospital and the delivering doctors. The mother claims negligence caused serious injuries to them both.
The woman arrived at the hospital in active labor, but she was not taken in for a Caesarean section until almost nine hours later. As a result, her son was born with a skull fracture, a skull deformity, and subdural hemorrhages.
The mother suffered a laceration on her bladder during the operation which later became infected, leading to a pelvic abscess, a wound separation, bowl obstruction, and forced her to use a feeding tube.
