Dole recently issued a precautionary recall of its bagged Italian blend salads becaues of a possible Listeria contamination. The recall affected over 2,800 cases of the salads.
The recall was issued after inspectors found that one of the bags tested positive for Listeria during a routine test. The recall of the salads, which had already been sent to at least 12 states, including Wisconsin, was issued immediately. No illnesses caused by the salads were reported.
Listeria is a bacteria that can cause food poisoning with symptoms including muscle pains, fever, gastrointestinal infection, and diarrhea.
