A 76-year-old Sheboygan Falls woman says a sticky gas pedal in her Toyota Camry caused her to run into a YMCA building Monday, authorities said. She claimed she was pulling into a parking space with her foot on the brake when the vehicle suddenly accelerated, jumping the curb and hitting the wall.
Her chest hit the steering wheel in the accident, police said, fracturing her sternum. The accident created a large crack in the wall of the building running from the floor to the ceiling, but engineers declared the damage not structurally dangerous.
