A Merrill High School student was taken to the hospital by ambulance Wednesday morning before school, authorities said. She was injured in an accident involving a vehicle in a student parking lot, police said. The school's assistant superintendent said students often arrive early for activities or projects.
The exact cause of the accident is unknown. Authorities still do not know if the accident involved cars crashing or if the girl was a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. Police are investigating the incident. The girl's parents were notified of the accident.
