Wisconsin boasts 19,000 less traffic fatalities in 2013

Posted under Car accidents

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation released preliminary data from 2013 that marks it as one of the safest years for motorists since 1944, with 527 motor vehicle deaths, lower than 2012’s 601 fatalities. There was also 19,000 less traffic accidents in 2013. According to records, 1943 had the lowest fatality total with 417 car accident deaths.

Officials did not pinpoint a single reason as to why there were less car accident-related deaths in 2013 but surmised that a combination of better vehicle safety features, a higher compliance rate on seat belt use, and improved highway infrastructure paved the way for causing less vehicular accidents.
