A California jury has awarded a woman nearly $415,000 in her slip and fall lawsuit against Costco. In April 2009, the woman fell in the store food court when she stepped into a puddle of liquid soap.

She suffered serious injures due to her fall. Her knee cap shattered, requiring surgery to wire it back together. Two more surgeries may be needed. According to her lawyer, she will suffer limited mobility and function of her leg for the rest of her life.

The jury awarded $90,000 for her past and future medical expenses and $350,000 for her past and future pain and suffering.
