The OSHA recently issued fines to two Wisconsin construction companies after a construction accident fatally wounded a 36-year-old worker.
The accident occurred in Chipewa Falls in December. Workers under contract with Cedar Falls Building Systems Inc. were working on a site when a concrete wall fell on top of them. The wall was 10-feet by 28-feet and killed one of the workers. Several other workers were injured in the accident as well.
According to the OSHA, both Cedar Falls Building Systems and the concrete contractor, Lewis Construction Inc., were at fault in the accident because they did not provide adequate braces to hold the wall in place. They have been fined with a total of $160,000.
