Four Loko makers sued for death of 15-year-old boy

Posted under Uncategorized

A lawsuit was recently filed against Phusion Projects, the makers of Four Loko, on behalf of a 15-year-old boy who died after being hit by a car after he drank the beverage.

The boy and a group of friends were attending a Sugarland concert on the night of September 25. They purchased cans of Four Loko from a gas station, despite being underage, and the boy drank two cans before heading to the concert. Concert officials threw the boy out because he was acting erratically, and, when his mother came to pick him up, he ran from her car. He then ran onto a highway where he was hit by an SUV and died.

This is not the first time a young person has died after drinking the caffeinated malt liquor beverage. A 20-year-old from Florida shot himself on September 17, 2010 after drinking Four Loko.
