Police believe that speeding was a factor in the accident and are currently investigating to determine any other possible causes.

On Wednesday, 49-year old Tom Fosdick of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, succumbed to his injuries and passed away after falling at the construction site he was working at on Monday.  Fosdick was employed by Swanson Glass.

Swanson was sub-contracted to work on the exterior renovations taking place at University of Iowa's Boy Law Building.  Iowa's Occupational Safety and Health Administration is expected to investigate the construction accident from between six to eight weeks to determine who, if anyone, was at fault for Fodisck's death.  So far, the general contractor of the project, Miron Construction of Wisconsin, has been fined $15,293 for 19 safety violations.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Fosdick's family and friends during this difficult time.
