Drivers Need to Slow Down
Posted on Monday, January 11th, 2010 at 7:18 am
The faster the speed of an accident, typically the more severe and serious the accident. The posted speed limits are selected for a variety of reasons. One of the most important factors is speed. When an individual drivers faster than the posted speed limit, they are likely putting themselves and others at a higher risk for an accident.
Speeding is bad because it puts others at risk. It is not an activity that only affects one person, because it has the potential to affect everyone on the road at a given time.

Energy Efficient Traffic Lights Causing Problems
Posted on Monday, January 4th, 2010 at 5:54 am
Many traffic lights across the state have made the switch from the traditional light bulbs to more energy efficient LED lights. These lights would conserve electricity and save the state millions in the long-term on energy costs. The lights though have begun to have some unforeseen consequences.
The LED lights save energy by not using as much energy. This means that the lights do not become very hot because they do not require much energy to operate. This has caused many traffic lights to become unusable in cold weather because snow and ice can build up on them. Traditional lights burn very hot and would melt ice before it began to accumulate. The new lights do not melt the ice and are causing many traffic problems. Officials have stated that they are working on a solution to this issue.
