Local Diver Loses Legs After Hit by Boater

Posted on Thursday, January 29th, 2009 at 8:01 am

Rob Murphy had done everything right the day he was hit by a motor boat.  On that particular Monday, he had decided to go diving in the lake.  He put his safety sausage up, and also a red flag alerting other boaters not to come within 300 feet of him.

Yet, a boat still hit Murphy, thus destroying both of his legs.

The owner of the Scuba and Diving Shop claims the warning flags are brightly colored and visible, yet somehow onlooking boaters still miss them.

300 feet is the average size of a football feild.  This is a huge area and other boats should always be on the lookout for red flags.  It is difficult to mistake this amount of space to the amount that was between Murphy and another boat.

If you or someone you know has been involved in an accident like this, please contact your Stevens Point personal injury attorney at 800-242-2874 to discuss your plan of action.

One patient was given a potentially lethal dosage of Heparin for several hours longer than needed after complaining of chest pains.

There has been talk of implementing health information technology programs that will avert medical mistakes.  Out newly elected President supports this program, yet, in the meantime, there will still be mistakes.
