Stacie Metayer, 43, has been charged in connection with an accident that injured a 16 year old high school student from Hallandale High School Wednesday morning. The student, whose name was not released, was crossing Foster Road to get to school when he was hit, sustaining head injuries. He was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he is in stable condition.

Metayer has been charged with careless driving, knowingly driving with a suspended license, and violation of the right of way.

William Huffman, of Salem, OH, recently reached a settlement in his lawsuit against the county over injuries he received in August of 2004. Huffman claimed he was seriously injured when his car crashed into the remains of a collapsed bridge near his home. Betty Ann Green has filed a personal injury lawsuit againt the DMV office in the Kanawha Mall. She sustained injuries after falling on a section of raised carpet near the front desk. According to Green, the carpet was raised due to another object that had slid underneath the carpet.
